War Machine tells the story of a group of Army Ranger recruits—led by 81 (Alan Ritchson)—whose training mission turns deadly when they encounter a crashed alien craft that turns out to be a relentless mechanized killer. As they’re hunted down, 81 must overcome his past and find a way to stop the threat. The sci-fi actioner is one of those films that doesn’t slow down, with the Rangers always having to stay ahead of the machine, whether that be in the forests of Colorado, along a river, or in highly rocky terrains.
The issue includes in-depth interviews with production visual effects supervisor Raymond McIntyre Jr., special effects supervisor Peter Stubbs, and visual effects and animation supervisors from Framestore, Rising Sun Pictures and FIN VFX.
