October 28, 2024

Visual effects supervisor Erik Henry on using ILM StageCraft, and on the many creatures of the show.

Today on the befores & afters podcast, we’re chatting to visual effects supervisor Erik Henry about the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians. It’s a show with a multitude of creatures and also one that has utilized ILM’s StageCraft LED volume and related tech for filming.

Erik goes into detail about how various creatures were filmed on set with stuffies or partial make-up effects and bucks, and then about how the vendors created the final CG versions. Some of those vendors were ILM, MPC, Raynault FX, Storm Studios, Hybride and MARZ.
