A whole bunch of professional photogrammetry equipment is up for sale

September 9, 2024

Mark Ruff’s Avatar Factory is offering industry-proven 3D scanning assets to a keen buyer.

One of the greats in photogrammetry is retiring.

An opportunity arises for someone else.

Mark Ruff from the Avatar Factory is offering a sale – lock, stock and barrel!

Mark and family have worked on many productions including Mortal Kombat, Elvis, Shantaram, FOE, God’s Favorite Idiot, The Spooky Files and several he can’t mention. Plus there’s various TVCs and fashion work, including for Vogue. Mark has received two ACS award for Technical Innovation and Advancement of Cinematography, including for the unique use of dielectric lighting.

The list of equipment on offer is:

  • Mobile scanning truck (air conditioned, insulated with stairs and comes with a super silent 33Kva generator),
  • 164 x 24 Mpx and 8 x 48 Mpx cameras,
  • NAS – 8 bay 32Tb raid 10,
  • LTO USB3 for archive,
  • 36 x flashes,
  • 3 x work stations with Sonnet USB 3 cards and RTX 2080S GPU’s,
  • 3 x UPS’s for computers,
  • 3 x 3KW UPS’s for cameras and hubs,
  • Polarised lighting with OLAT with 6 x flash heads,
  • Sync via 6x MultiMax Wizard radios and Hahnel triggering,
  • TrackScan scanner for props (hand held blue light for extreme volumes),
  • All cables and hubs.

This system would suit investors who want to accommodate a photogrammetry system at a minimal cost compared to a new system.

If you do not wish to use the truck, then the components can be configured for road cases and freight (15 x 1650 Pelican cases plus more road cases as part of the deal).

The offer includes training.

The offer is AUD$250,000 with all the IP included.
