September 1, 2026

How 3D Editor + Canvas works.

Today on the befores & afters podcast, we’re chatting about the latest developments with Autodesk’s Flow Studio. befores & afters readers and listeners will know that I’ve been lucky to talk a couple of times to Nikola Todorovic about his journey in AI filmmaking. He co-founded Wonder Dynamics, which is now an Autodesk company.

The AI filmmaking tool Nikola and the team developed is now called Flow Studio. The latest news with Flow is the launch of 3D Editor + Canvas. What this lets users do is have a workspace for generation, scene assembly, rendering and refinement of a scene. The idea is that users have more control over their scenes, something Nikola make a particular point about in our chat. We also discuss on the podcast some of the wider developments and even cautions about machine learning and AI in VFX and CG.

Below, check out some demo videos and images showcasing the new 3D Editor + Canvas.
