It’s the third ep of our special ILM series.
Today we’re continuing our special ILM series of podcasts as part of the release of my book, Industrial Light & Magic: 50 Years of Innovation. Our guest this week is Rob Bredow, who is now Senior Vice President, Creative Innovation at Lucasfilm.

Rob has a long history in VFX, and started at ILM in 2014. In his role as CTO at ILM, he had a key part in shaping ILM’s technological developments, including with StageCraft. Rob was also the visual effects supervisor and a co-producer on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and there’s some fun stories he shares from that project. Other stories you’ll hear are about how some past ILM projects inspired Rob, such as Dragonheart, where he actually got to ask an artist at ILM years later how a water shader trick was done.
This podcast is sponsored by RE:Vision Effects.
Here’s a quick quiz: Name the company that made VFX for these movies?
