How the in-house VFX process worked on s2 of ‘The Sandman’

February 12, 2026

A rarely-discussed insight into how visual effects work is done.

Today on the befores & afters podcast, we’re chatting about the visual effects of Netflix’s The Sandman season 2. What’s special about this chat is that we’re looking at something I rarely get to cover, which is the in-house team on the series.

My guests are production visual effects supervisor Ian Markiewicz, as well as Henrique Reginato and Cristian Slavik from NOX VFX. NOX acted as the in-house team on the show. We dive into how that in-house role worked, what shots it involved and we even jump into some of the more challenging in-house sequences.

Listen in, above, and to catch up on the work, check out the trailer for The Sandman s2, below.
