A new video interview on how the Kaiju battle was made, crafting the River Pi rescue, and delivering the Mister Terrific oner.
Here’s something super fun: a half-hour chat with Wētā FX on the making of Superman. I was able to sit down with senior visual effects supervisor Guy Williams and sequence visual effects supervisor Joanna Davison to discuss the VFX of James Gunn’s Superman.
For the Kaiju battle, we talked about a new approach to texturing, and the special flamethrower reference the team looked to for fire. For the River Pi rescue, we discussed the plates shot of the actors with balls standing in for water, and for the Mister Terrific oner, we broke down all the plates and how they were stitched together.
