Today we’re continuing the befores & afters series on AI, ML and VFX. We chat to Marco Paolini and Paul Miller, two names synonymous with rotoscoping tool Silhouette, which is of course now part of the Boris FX family.
Silhouette now incorporates several machine learning tools to assist with rotoscoping, compositing, and painting. These include Matte Assist, as well as ML powered Retiming, Optical Flow and Denoising. With Marco and Paul, we dive into the research they’ve been doing in ML and what they think have been the best ways to incorporate it into Silhouette.
