This week on the befores & afters podcast, we’re chatting to Framestore visual effects supervisor Josh Simmonds about the Adam Driver film, 65.

Josh is based in Framestore’s Melbourne office, where he oversaw around 700 shots involving dinosaurs, crashing space ships and – spoiler alert – a major asteroid event on Earth.

This is a really fun discussion because we also get into the ‘role’ of VFX in helping to craft a story, especially these days in some of the big blockbuster films where visual effects really often do help flesh out the third act in particular.
