How StageCraft came to be, plus a look at BlockParty 2 and Fez.
Today it’s our latest episode from the special ILM podcast series, as part of the release of my book, Industrial Light & Magic: 50 Years of Innovation.

I’m joined by Rachel Rose, Director of R&D at ILM. We discuss a number of innovations that Rachel was directly involved with at the studio. These include the development of virtual production and real-time tools, like StageCraft. Prior to that work, Rachel worked on the tools BlockParty 2 for rigging and Fez for facial animation. Rachel also offers some interesting views, I think, on where VFX art and tech is heading.
This podcast is sponsored by RE:Vision Effects.
Here’s a quick quiz: Name the company that made VFX for these movies?
