Today on the befores & afters podcast, I sit down with Wētā FX to discuss A Minecraft Movie. I chat to visual effects supervisor Sheldon Stopsack and animation supervisor Kevin Estey. They detail the efforts that went into many of the characters in the film, from design through to execution. We talk in particular about Malgosha, and her stabbing scenes which are some of the funniest things in the movie.
We also reveal Sheldon’s close association with the ‘terrible’ drawing one piglin shows to Malgosha…since it was Sheldon’s daughter who drew it. Kevin further mentions the background details to watch out for in the film, like the appearance of the Priesty-boys.
