Joseph Bell has collated data on the world’s largest VFX hubs and VFX studios, the global distribution of VFX skill sets and more in his Visual Effects World Atlas.
Today on the befores & afters podcast we’re chatting to Joseph Bell from HDRI Consulting. Joseph has established himself a unique position in the VFX industry as someone posting some great stats about VFX employment, including where VFX artists are around the world, where the hubs are, and a lot of related information to all that.

I wanted to talk to Joseph because it just seemed to me that this kind of information has never really been out there. But he’s doing the research and posting about it, including in an upcoming document called the Visual Effects World Atlas 2024 (vfxatlas.com), which will be available to download for free from October 1st.
