The VFX of ‘Ahsoka’.

Today on the befores & afters podcast, we’re chatting to Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor Richard Bluff about Ahsoka. This Star Wars series has so many different areas of VFX work, and with Richard we start by talking about the miniature shuttle that was built, and then shot motion control. We also talk about the CG shuttle work done to match, and how gathering reference of an original miniature Star Destroyer was carried out for Thrawn’s ship.

Then we dive into other areas of the VFX, including lightsaber battles, Purrgils, the Howlers and more. We discuss the puppet made by Legacy Effects for Huyang. And finally Richard talks about where ILM’s StageCraft was used in Ahsoka.
