What might the follow-up to MAD GOD be?
Today on the befores & afters podcast, we’re catching up with Phil Tippett. I’ve been really lucky these past few years to interview Phil on many occasions, sometimes even in person at his studio, or at conferences. Last time we talked, which was about his incredible MAD GOD project, he had mentioned a raft of personal projects that he wanted to get done. And that’s what I asked him about in this brand new interview.
We talked about a couple of things he has in the works – including what could be a follow-up to MAD GOD, ie. MAD GOD 2. There’s also Pequin’s Pendequin, and the Sentinel feature Tippett Studio already crafted a test for. That, interestingly, saw Phil and Tippett go down the road of AI for some of the exploration of the film. And, as you’ll hear in this chat, I think Phil has a surprising take on AI and its influence on filmmaking, animation and VFX.
