The evolution of virtual production

This is a set of links and info from Ian Failes (from befores & afters) for London College of Communication MA Visual Effects students.

WHAT IS VIRTUAL PRODUCTION?

– A good way to think about it is that it is pretty much any kind of production that’s trying to recreate in CG what we’ve done for more than 100 years in traditional filmmaking.
– Here, we’re mostly going to talk about LED wall filmmaking,, but virtual production is more than just LED walls because it also involves real-time rendering, visualization, virtual cinematography, simul-cams, motion capture and many more things.
